"Anime USA is a family friendly event, however, some events have legal restrictions on attendance as required by the state or host venue. When submitting your panel, we need you to verify if your panel will or will not require wristband or I.D. checks to verify a participant is of legal age before attending."
All Ages – good for any person to wander through, young or old. Generally this means keeping things PG-13 during the day and R rated at night.
18+ – Content for persons of age 18 and over only, as verified by an ID check and wristband for legal reasons. Examples include anything sexually explicit (like Hentai) or adjacent to sexually explicit (Q&A about sex work, “Smash or Pass” panels), excessively profane (“Rick and Morty” or “Helluva Boss” level), requiring a working knowledge of legal consent (“BDSM knot tying 101”), or excessive violence of a graphic nature (such as when the violence is the point, like “Zombie-Killing Video Games for the Bloodthirsty”).
Panel titles will appear on any programming sheets or TV schedules, and ideally are under 60 characters to make the finished document as readable and to the point as possible.
Descriptions are a longer paragraph on what your panel is about, and are for any schedule guide documents we create.
Pitches, on the other hand, are for internal use for you to describe how you want to go about your panel, why you think your panel is a good fit for Anime USA, and any supporting media links to your website, social media, photo or video sources.
